The Mt. Shasta Farmers Market Story

Founded in 1999 by local farmers, the Mt. Shasta Farmers Market started out with only three vendors. Over the years, the market steadily grew and now provides over 30 vendors, live music, and incredible support from the Mt. Shasta community. The market also partners with a non-profit entity known as Jedi Mt. Shasta (Jefferson Economic Development Institute). This organization focuses on the principles of growing and promoting local agriculture, increasing access to fresh food, and educating consumers. Their new projects increase customer base and continue to grow the market.
